Device Solutions – Engaging at the Prototype Stage

Device Solutions – Engaging at the Prototype Stage

When is the best time to engage Device Solutions? In cases where a design has been developed by a client’s engineering team (or a third party design house), and the design review has already been done, Device Solutions can take the hand-off to help take the design through prototyping runs and work with the client to resolve issues either in collaboration with engineering resources or by directly taking over the design modifications. Device Solutions acknowledges that there are many talents required in embedded systems and that the domain expertise that many companies have internally (or through third party designers) is important to the ultimate success of moving new products to market.   Leveraging the expertise from the designers, the client, the testing houses, the prototyping shop(s), and the collective knowledge from our engineers’ decades of embedded design experience increases the odds that the design is as good as possible on the first iteration.

Whether Bob, Chris and the Device Solutions team did the initial design they are always keeping in mind the objective of getting as high a quality product to market as possible given the design and market constraints. A great value of the Prototyping stage is that the process provides feedback on many aspects of the design and insights into the future issues of moving the product into production. And, although it probably doesn’t require mention, the prototype is usually the first time everyone gets to see the product “come to life”.   Device Solutions has worked with customers who have leveraged prototypes for initial market feedback, fund raising, investor discussions, corporate funding, and even media outreach.  There is no denying how powerful a prototype can be to both celebrate the original concept, as well as to focus and re-energize teams to move forward with something in hand.

The first step, no matter what stage of your development or re-design is to contact Bob (Device Solutions’ CEO) and arrange an in person discussion. If you have already worked with Bob and Device Solutions, you know about the incredible experience of working with a company that prides itself on openness, transparency, and authenticity (and innovation). If you haven’t met the Device Solutions team, you are in for a real treat.
